What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

MLD is a gentle, light pressure, manual treatment that improves the lymph vascular system.

It promotes relaxation and has an analgesic effect. The therapist uses very light pressure. The lymph vessels are just below the skin’s surface, so the point is not to push down on those vessels and block the flow.

MLD reroutes the lymph flow around blocked areas into healthy lymph vessels so the fluid can drain properly.

Our lymphatic system removes harmful waste and toxins from our tissues. When an area gets blocked, swelling can occur. MLD can help the fluid find an alternate route to different lymph nodes in the body.
